Survival in the harsh desert world is paramount, followed by development. How can you strengthen your power to withstand all incoming attacks and gradually seize control of your empire? Gathering resources and building a base is the first step! If u have more money, just buy Dune: Awakening items at IGGM.com in advance. Nice choice!
For this reason, Dune Awakening places great emphasis on resource mining, which allows players to craft equipment and vehicles. To increase your material collection efficiency, a handy tool is essential.
In the game, Cutteray is one of the most important pieces of equipment for all players. It can be used to cut various materials in the open world, thereby obtaining various Dune Awakening resources such as ore, copper, granite, salvaged metal, and more.
However, Dune Awakening has many types of Cutteray, so how do you find the best one? Below, IGGM will guide you through multiple dimensions to find the most suitable Cutteray tool for you and explain the best ways to find and craft it.
Cutteray Comparison
First and foremost, the best Cutteray currently available in the game comes from a schematic called Kynes’s Cutteray, which has a chance to drop in The Deep Desert. However, since not all schematics are available weekly, and it requires Plastanium Ingot to craft, you need to consider the next best option: Tarl Cutteray, which is frequently found in Hagga Basin (HB).
Tarl Cutteray can be crafted from a unique schematic and requires only Duraluminum Ingot.
Let’s quickly compare it to Cutteray Mk6, which can be crafted at Fabricators or obtained on Auction House for Dune Awakening Solari.
Kynes’s Cutteray
- Copper, Granite, Salvaged Metal: 250
- Iron: 210
- Carbon and Erythrite: 212
- Basalt and Aluminum: 130
- Jasmium: 187
- Titanium and Stravidium: 63
Tarl Cutteray
- Copper, Granite, Salvaged Metal: 210
- Iron: 170
- Carbon and Erythrite: 130
- Basalt and Aluminum: 93
- Jasmium: 152
- Titanium and Stravidium: 48
Cutteray Mk6
- Copper, Granite, Salvaged Metal: 200
- Iron: 168
- Carbon and Erythrite: 170
- Basalt and Aluminum: 104
- Jasmium: 149
- Titanium and Stravidium: 48
From this data, we can easily see that Kynes’s Cutteray has the highest mining yield of all resources, with Titanium and Stravidium mining yields exceeding Mk6 by 31%. Furthermore, its performance outperforms other Cutterays, making it a top choice for efficient resource harvesting.
While Cutteray Mk6 is still a reliable tool, it’s not the best in terms of mining yield, especially for Titanium and Stravidium.
In comparison, Tarl Cutteray is nearly on par with the higher-tier Cutteray Mk6. While not as powerful as Kynes’s Cutteray, it’s more readily available and has lower crafting requirements than Mk6. For players who want a powerful tool but don’t want to venture into the Deep Desert to find resources, it’s a good choice, easier to obtain, craft, and maintain.
Crafting Materials
Before showing you where to obtain Tarl Cutteray schematic, let’s briefly discuss the materials required to craft it.
In addition to Duraluminum Ingots, Spice-Infused Duraluminum Dust, and other resources readily available in Hagga Basin, you’ll also need 8 Thermoelectric Coolers.
Note that while Thermoelectric Coolers primarily drop in The Deep Desert, they can be easily obtained from points of interest along The Deep Desert Shield Wall in PVE zones A and B. Alternatively, they can be obtained from vendors at Crossroads Tradeposts for 5,000 Dune Awakening Solari each.
Do you have enough Solari left? Even if not, IGGM.com has a large selection of cheap Dune Awakening Solari and materials for sale, making it the best place to skip the tedious process of collecting Thermoelectric Coolers.
Tarl Cutteray Schematic
Now, here’s the kicker. Hagga Basin has four locations with a chance to drop Tarl Cutteray’s unique schematic. Three of these locations are in O’odham zone, and one is in Western Shield Wall.
Imperial Testing Station No. 60 in Western Shield Wall isn’t too difficult, but it’s a long trek, so we usually skip it for this map.
In contrast, Imperial Testing Station No. 71 in O’odham is quick to farm and definitely worth the effort.
Finally, there are Stonestep Village and Rock Warren Village, located north and south of O’odham. The chests in both locations are easy to find, allowing you to avoid most enemies. The drop rate for schematics is said to be between 6% and 10%, depending on RNG, so you might be lucky on some days and unlucky on others.
Note that the chests in these locations only drop Spice-Infused Duraluminum Dust. Therefore, to obtain Duraluminum Ingots needed for crafting, you’ll also need to farm the chests at Beast’s Claw in Mysa Tarill area or at the two PvP outposts in Western Shield Wall. Of course, if you have enough Dune Awakening Solari, you can obtain these materials directly from Player Trade Market in Arakeen or Harko Village.
Last but not least, you have a chance to obtain this schematic from any crashed spaceship in the corresponding area of Hagga Basin. But as we said before, the chances are very low, so take your chance.
Now, let’s take a look at each possible schematic location so you can better understand the route to take. We’ll start in the southern part of O’odham and work our way north.
Rock Warren Village
Rock Warren Village consists of two large rock formations containing ruins that are somehow connected.
The treasure chest is located in the second ruin across the stone bridge. Inside, you’ll find some enemies that you can eliminate or avoid if you’re quick.
Go up the stairs to the top floor and then to the other side of the room, where you’ll see a door. Enter the ruined altar room and look for a small loot chest in the ruins on the right.
Imperial Testing Station No. 71
Testing Station No. 71 is relatively small, but you’ll need two ID Bands to access the final room, which contains a treasure chest. The treasure chest is located in an alcove at the rear of the room.
Stonestep Village
Stonestep Village is another ruin located within a large rock formation. The treasure chest is located in a room at the top, accessible through the main entrance, a hole in the top of the rock formation, or a side door nearby.
We jumped from the top and landed on a canopy. From there, you can easily find the stairs leading up to the room, and the treasure chest is hidden high up on the left side as you enter the room.
Imperial Testing Station No. 60
Finally, there’s Testing Station No. 60, located in Western Shield Wall. This is the longer of the testing stations, and the area is more challenging, often featuring multiple waves of enemies and requiring players to solve puzzles or explore complex environments. The treasure chest is located in the final room, making exploration more time-consuming.
That’s it! After gathering the above materials, use Survival Fabricator to craft this Tarl Cutteray. Now you can start your collection journey! Hopefully, this Cutteray will help you fill up your warehouse with materials in the shortest possible time!
